Service Description

This two-day workshop invites participants to develop their eye, sense of composition, and mastery of color, all while creating a finished illustration. Day 1 - Observation, Composition, and Sketching Weather permitting, this first session will take place outdoors. It will be dedicated to observation, visual exploration, and sketching. Participants will learn to observe a landscape or interior and transform it into a strong and dynamic composition through several quick studies of framing, structure, and interpretation of the subject. Areas of Focus: — Composition and visual balance — Perspective and perception of space — Simplification of shapes and lines — Rhythm and movement in drawing By the end of this first day, each participant will have developed a finished sketch, ready to be colored. Day 2 - Color and Final Illustration The first part of the day may also take place outdoors, before returning to the studio to finalize the illustration. This second day will be dedicated to color, building a coherent palette, and developing the final illustration. Participants will learn to make accurate color choices based on observation and to use markers through layering, blending, and depth effects. By the end of the course, participants will be able to: — strengthen their observational drawing skills — better understand composition and perspective — gain confidence in their use of color — create a finished illustration About the artist Sarah Mari Shaboyan is a visual artist for whom drawing is a personal language, a way of seeing, feeling, and expressing the world (www.smshaboyan.com, @smshaboyan) 📍 LOCATION: Day 1 outdoors (the exact location will be communicated to participants before the workshop); Day 2: first part outdoors, then the rest of the workshop at Artiloft, Albulastrasse 24, 8048 Zurich. 📅 DATES: June 6 & 7, 2026 (Saturday + Sunday) 🕙 HOURS: 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM & 2:00 PM - 5:00 PM (with lunch break, 2 days of 6 hours each) 💰 PRICE: CHF 360 - Ohuhu is generously sponsoring this workshop. All necessary materials will be provided. 🗣️ LANGUAGES: English, Italian, Russian ADMISSION - Open to everyone aged 16 and over, all levels welcome. Please note that online registration here is mandatory due to limited space.

Cancellation Policy

Weekly classes can be canceled free of charge with 24 hours' notice. Special workshops can be canceled free of charge with one week's notice. Workshops and workshops with visiting foreign artists must be canceled no later than one month before the start date. Summer camps and workshops must be canceled no later than one week before the start date. After this time, the full course fee will be charged.
