Service Description

Join Peter Stalder for a weekend devoted to portraits and the nude figure from a live model, in oil or acrylic at Artiloft Zurich. Saturday focuses on portraiture. You will learn to capture the model’s character, understand the proportions and anatomy of the head, and work with light and shadow. Following Peter’s demonstration, you will create your own painting with individual guidance. On Sunday, you will apply the previous day’s learning to the nude figure from a live model. Peter will give another demonstration and guide you through creating your work. Peter prefers painting in oil, but participants are free to choose whether to work in oil or acrylic. By the end of the weekend, you will have created two works: a portrait and a figure. Swiss-British artist Peter Stalder has lived in the Lake Geneva region for many years. His work has been exhibited in French-speaking Switzerland, neighbouring France and London. A passionate draughtsman, he began studying oil painting in 2010 at the Royal Drawing School and the Heatherley School of Fine Arts in London. His favourite subjects include portraits, plein-air painting and life drawing. Discover his work at www.peterstalder.com and on Instagram as “Pete’s Sketchbook”.
