This 3-hour workshop invites participants to delve into the world of manga through the creation of expressive and original portraits. Led by Louise Monnard (https://www.instagram.com/lousytha/), a professional illustrator and graduate of HEAD Geneva in visual communication and illustration, and a teacher at Artiloft, this workshop explores the fundamentals of portraiture while giving ample room for creativity and personal expression. Participants will learn to draw a face from different angles, better understand volume, and bring their characters to life through composition, graphic elements, and the use of negative space. The workshop will also enrich portraits with graphic inspirations, particularly from Art Nouveau, to create a personal, sensitive, and expressive illustration. This workshop is open to young people aged 11 and up, teenagers, and adults interested in the world of manga and illustration. No prior experience is required: beginners and those with drawing experience are all welcome. This masterclass is part of a new series of manga workshops led by Louise Monnard, offering different themes related to illustration and comics throughout the year.
