Service Description

We are pleased to invite you to a two-day workshop with French artist Beya Rebaï (beyarebai.com), an illustrator and visual artist fascinated by color, trained in Brussels and Paris. She is known for her pastel compositions with carefully chosen palettes, inspired by modern art movements. She regularly collaborates with prestigious publications such as The Guardian, The New York Times, The New Yorker, and The Washington Post, as well as iconic brands like Illy, Rimowa, Nike, and Gran Meliá. Her works are also exhibited in international galleries, both solo and in group shows. During this two-day workshop, you will be introduced to the technique of wax pastels. The first day will be dedicated to experimentation to familiarize you with the medium: color research, creating a color chart, sketching, and exercises. Weather permitting, the second day will take place outdoors at the Zurich Botanical Garden (the exact address will be provided to registered participants closer to the event). There, we will put into practice the techniques covered the previous day to explore a more personal style. You will then be invited to create a work of art based on outdoor observation, nature, and/or your imagination. The workshop is fun and supportive; anyone with a curiosity for drawing, color, and learning a new medium is welcome, regardless of their skill level. Wax pastel is a stick of pigmented wax, distinct from dry pastel, in which the pigment is mixed with a dry binder such as gum arabic, and from oil pastel, in which the binder is a mixture of wax and oil. 📍 LOCATION: Artiloft, Albulastrasse 24, 8048 Zurich 📅 DATES: April 11 and 12, 2026 (Saturday + Sunday) 🕙 TIMES: 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM & 2:00 PM - 5:00 PM (with lunch break, 2 days of 6 hours each, 12 hours total) 💰 PRICE: CHF 360 - Caran d’Ache is generously sponsoring this workshop.
