This workshop will teach you the basic principles and terminology of weaving, and you will create a small woven piece using a loom. What you will learn: – How to choose the best yarns for weaving – How to plan your warp (the tension yarns wound on the loom before weaving begins) – How to dress the loom (prepare it for weaving) – How to secure and remove your piece from the loom This workshop is suitable for complete beginners as well as those with some experience who would like to refresh their skills. We will experiment with different color combinations and layering techniques, working with cotton and wool yarns of various sizes and thicknesses. About the speaker: Li Tabbouche is a textile artist and certified applied arts educator. She has attended numerous weaving courses and workshops, including in the UK. Passionate about patterns, textures, and color combinations, she considers weaving a form of active meditation, accessible to all. She looks forward to introducing you to this fascinating and soothing art. Date - June 1st from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm (30-minute break in between). Location - Artiloft, Rue des Artisans 5, 1815 Montreux / Clarens. Admission - Ages 15 and up – all levels welcome. Price - CHF 140 per participant, all materials provided.
