We invite you to participate in a two-day intensive workshop with internationally renowned watercolorist Julia Barminova, entirely dedicated to painting the sea. This workshop is for anyone wishing to learn how to paint the sea in watercolor or improve their seascape skills. You will explore essential techniques for depicting water, from absolute calm to the most powerful waves. Program Day 1 – The Surface of the Sea Techniques for painting the surface of water: reflections, ripples, plays of light, color balance, depth, and movement in a calm sea. Day 2 – Waves and Dynamic Landscapes Study of waves and moving water: the strength and structure of waves, the textures of foam, splashes, expressive gestures, and subtle details to create dynamic seascapes. At the end of the workshop, you will have: • Improved mastery of watercolor painting, both in the studio and outdoors • A deeper understanding of the qualities of watercolor for representing the different states of water • Greater confidence in realizing your artistic visions in seascapes • A certificate of participation will be awarded. Practical Information Dates: March 14 and 15, 2026 Time: 10:00–13:00 / 14:00–17:00 (12 hours total, 1-hour break) Location: Artiloft, Chemin de la Colline 1c, 1007 Lausanne Language: English (French translation available upon request) Price: CHF 420 per participant ⚠️ Online registration required – limited places available ⚠️ Registration for both days only Materials Workshop sponsored by Royal Talens: Rembrandt and Van Gogh colors used by the instructor are provided. Please bring: • Your usual watercolor set and a plastic palette • Arches Fine Grain 300 g/m² paper (30 × 40 cm or 38 × 56 cm) • Brushes: pointed synthetic round brushes (4–6 mm), soft flat brush (20–30 mm), angled brush (10 mm) • Masking tape, eraser, 2B pencil For those who have already participated: new photographic references are used in each workshop.

Cancellation Policy
Weekly classes can be canceled free of charge with 24 hours' notice. Special workshops can be canceled free of charge with one week's notice. Workshops and workshops with visiting foreign artists must be canceled no later than one month before the start date. Summer camps and workshops must be canceled no later than one week before the start date. After this time, the full course fee will be charged.
