Service Description
We are pleased to invite you to an intensive soft pastel workshop with Tanya Avchinnikova, an award-winning artist, member of The Pastel Society, and Signature Member of the Pastel Society of America, based in the United Kingdom. Artist's website: https://tanyaavchinnikovaart.co.uk ⸻ Tanya is an artist passionate about water in all its forms: reflections, vibrations, transparency, movement… A graduate of the Belarusian National Academy of Music, she has found in soft pastel an intimate and direct form of expression, without intermediaries - just the artist and the pigment. Her waterscapes and seascapes, often painted in close-up, reflect a desire for a deep connection with nature. She works in series, with the idea of reliving and reviving these suspended moments, where light dances on the waves or glides over blades of grass. ⸻ "Abstract Realism: Aquatic Surfaces" Workshop During this two-day workshop, we will explore the illusions of water - technical and almost philosophical - using a limited palette of dry pastels. We will learn to create the illusion of presence, in a free, spontaneous, and sketchy style, where abstract becomes realistic, and realism borders on abstraction. 🔹 Day 1: Technical studies, sketches, experimentation with textures and contrasts, working with gesture and light. 🔹 Day 2: Creation of a final work in a chosen format. 📍 Artiloft (Craft Factory, 4th floor), Albulastrasse 24, 8048 Zurich 📅 November 22-23, 2025 🕙 Hours: 10am–1pm & 2pm–5pm (12 hours total) 💰 Price: CHF 360 with your own materials (list available upon request) or CHF 390 with materials provided (registration is mandatory for both days). 🎓 A certificate of participation will be issued at the end of the workshop. 🗣️ Languages: English (Translation into French and German available on request). Please note that online registration here is mandatory due to limited space.
