Service Description
We are pleased to invite you to an intensive soft pastel workshop with Tanya Avchinnikova – an award-winning artist, member of The Pastel Society and Signature Member of the Pastel Society of America, based in the UK. Artist's website: https://tanyaavchinnikovaart.co.uk ⸻ Tanya is an artist passionate about water in all its forms: reflections, vibrations, transparency, movement… A graduate of the Belarusian National Academy of Music, she has found in soft pastel an intimate and direct form of expression, without intermediaries – just the artist and the pigment. Her aquatic and marine landscapes, often painted in close-up, convey a desire for a profound connection with nature. She works in series, with the aim of recapturing and recapturing these suspended moments, where light dances on the waves or glides over blades of grass. ⸻ Workshop “Abstract Realism: Aquatic Surfaces” During this two-day workshop, we will explore the illusions of water—both technical and almost philosophical—using a limited palette of dry pastels. We will learn to create the illusion of presence in a free, spontaneous, and sketchy style, where the abstract becomes realistic, and realism borders on abstraction. 🔹 Day 1: Technical studies, sketches, experimentation with textures and contrasts, working with gesture and light. 🔹 Day 2: Creation of a final artwork in a chosen format. 📍 Artiloft, Chemin de la Colline 1c, 1007 Lausanne 📅 February 21-22, 2026 🕙 Schedule: 10:00 AM–1:00 PM & 2:00 PM–5:00 PM (12 hours total) 💰 Price: CHF 360 with your own equipment (list available upon request) or CHF 390 with equipment provided (Registration is mandatory for both days). 🎓 A certificate of participation will be awarded at the end of the workshop. 🗣️ Languages: English (French translation available upon request).
